Liam is a Registered Building Surveyor with considerable experience in building surveying and project management. Liam uses his trade, professional experience and higher education to provide a professional service for governmental, corporate, private and commercial clients.
Liam trained as carpenter and joiner in England and engaged in a period of higher study whilst working for a well known Architectural and Building Surveying practice. Here he gained valuable experience in defects analysis and report writing whilst working alongside some of London's most prominent architects.
Prior to moving to New Zealand, Liam established and managed a private construction company operating in central and greater London. Involved in alterations and extensions of high end residential
buildings. The projects required meticulous planning and liaison with clients and neighbours due to the tight site confines encountered. Liam gained valuable experience in party wall matters, negotiating and mediating in this arena.

Since arriving in New Zealand, Liam was contracted to a multi national building consultancy providing project management, reports, defects analysis, preparation of contract documentation, remedial design and review, tender analysis, cost reporting and analysis and expert witness. During this time he has acted as Engineer to the Contract (NZS 3910) on mainly large multi million dollar, complex educational, residential and multi-unit properties including a large number of properties with leaky / weathertightness issues. As an Engineer to Contract Liam attends to the demands and needs of clients specifically regarding project management.
Liam has a good understanding of construction law and a keen eye for detail and enjoys the challenge of problem solving, risk mitigation and value engineering.

He has extensive experience acting as an expert witness in the legal arena which has honed his negotiating skills. Liam subscribes to and endeavors to achieve the goals within the codes of ethics set by the institutions that I belong to.

Chris is a Chartered & Registered Building Surveyor with wide ranging experience gained in the UK and NZ construction sectors. Chris collaborates as a sub consultant to Globe Consultancy.
After graduating in 1986, and immigrating to New Zealand in 1994, his knowledge and experience has been gained working for professional consultancy practices and for main contractors. Chris has taken opportunities to develop his work experience into Project Management and Quantity Surveying, and when the “leaky homes” crisis hit the NZ industry (2002), he was appointed as a weathertightness assessor to the Weathertight Homes Resolution Service to carry out building defect investigations and provide expert witness advice.
Core work experience includes;
- Investigations of public and privately owned commercial, institutional and/or residential buildings, to identify and assess design and/or construction defects
- Contract administration and project management roles for a wide range of commercial, institutional and residential construction projects
- Assessment of building conditions and deferred maintenance requirements for property stocks, including due diligence reporting for residential and commercial purchasers
- Professional assessments and technical advice regarding weathertightness failures and essential building remediation
- Undertaking the role of expert witness for weathertightness claims, at numerous resolution mediations and/or adjudication hearings
- Identification of hazardous building materials and/or moulds (including asbestos containing materials and toxic moulds)
Chris has served on the national governing bodies of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (2004 to 2010) and the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors (2008 to 2010). Since 2007, he has also been appointed as a parent representative to serve three terms on the Board of Trustees, at primary and secondary schools in Mount Maunganui and Tauranga, as his daughters have progressed with their education.
